Hi all,
some of you might have got used to a very nice feature that exists e.g.
in Mozilla/Thunderbird, which would be quite nice to have in Eclipse as
well: moving the mouse over anything "scrollable" will make that a
target for the scroll wheel of the mouse.
In Eclipse that would mean: move the mouse over any View and you can
scroll it using the mouse wheel, you don't need to click anywhere before
scrolling using the mouse wheel.
Someone had opened a bug
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=45027) against SWT
concerning this, which had been closed due to the current state being
"correct win32 behaviour". I had opened a feature request, which had
been marked as a duplicate of that bug and was thus closed as well.
If you would like to see that feature in Eclipse, please take the time
to vote for either the feature request
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=45355) or the bug report
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=45027) to get either one
reopened.
I hope votes on closed bugs are likely to have that effect and do not
simply get lost :-/
Thanks,
Jörg.
