A proposal to create a new "Papyrus" component as part of the MDT subproject
has been posted to Eclipsepedia (see
http://wiki.eclipse.org/MDT-Papyrus-Proposal). Technical discussions about
the formation, scope, and direction of this new component will take place on
the eclipse.modeling.mdt newsgroup (please prefix the subject with
[Papyrus]). If you have comments or ideas, or interest in contributing to
the component, please join in the discussion!

This sounds like an interesting proposal. I'm surprised it hasn't
sparked a single comment in two months. Did it die an early death?

If it's still active, I'd be interested in exploring collaboration
between ArgoEclipse and the new project.

Hi,

This proposal is still active and different groups are working together
to be able to deliver a first code base if the project is accepted.

The proposal want to create a large community to create and maintain a
complete UML environment for industrial uses so everybody is welcome in
the project.

I will add you as interested party in the proposal and I think one of
the project leader will contact the ArgoEclipse team soon.

Regards,
David Sciamma

Tom,

We will be conducting a vote by the MDT committers in the near future to
have this component created. Stay tuned.

Hi

Looks interesting.

I would be very interested in seeing/helping the multipage component support a mixture
of textual (IMP-based) and graphical (GMF-based) views of EMF-defined models, so that
QVT 'programs' can be viewed and edited using a variety of representations.

Kenn,

Zeligsoft Inc. (http://www.zeligsoft.com) is interested in both the
MDT-Papyrus and MST (Model Specification Tools) sub-projects. We will
certainly follow the progress and contributions to these projects and we
are looking to being early adopters. Please feel free to add our company
as interested parties, where applicable.

Any update on the status of the proposal?

The proposal gives a list of proposed package/plugin names. Is there a
mapping from the existing Papyrus/TopcaseD/whatever package names to the
new package names so that we can at least look at the existing code to
see what it looks like?

e.g. com.cea.papyrus.truc --> org.eclipse.papyrus.scribe.machin

The original proposal said that technical discussion was going to take
place in this newsgroup, but that's obviously not happening. Is there a
better forum to participate in? It's been years since I worked at
Sophia-Antipolis, so my French is a little rusty, but I should still be
able to manage French-only forums if that's necessary.

Tom,

The component has been created (and announced to the membership) and is
mostly provisioned; I believe the team intended to post the initial code
contribution sometime in November (perhaps Sebastien can confirm). All
discussion related to this component should now take place on the Papyrus
newsgroup (eclipse.papyrus, copied) and developers' mailing list
(mdt-papyrus.dev).

This sounds like an interesting proposal. I'm surprised it hasn't
sparked a single comment in two months. Did it die an early death?

If it's still active, I'd be interested in exploring collaboration
between ArgoEclipse and the new project.

Any update on the status of the proposal?

The proposal gives a list of proposed package/plugin names. Is there a
