Hello all,
I am new here and came across while searching for WS-Policy editor. STP
project has this editor within and I am trying to figure out how to use
it. I found Policy editor documentation, where is a Quick Start section
and the explanation of how to start using this feature. It states that
"XML XPath View" view should be opened at first, which is a part of
org.eclipse.stp.xef.test fragment. The problem is that in my views I don't
have this view and in STP packages there is no such fragment, and the only
useful thing I can find is "Policy help" view, but still it doesn't show
any information at the moment. I can't figure out how to start using
Policy editor. Could you provide some guidance? Whether where to get the
needed fragment, whether how to start using Policy editor without it.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Jelena

Hi Oisin,
Thanks for reply and explanation. I went through all of your directions. I
did:
- checked out xef.test project and tried to compile it.
- to compile, it was not enough having the libraries that come with
eclipse and stp all-in-one (stp.xef_0.7.0). So I checked out projects
within Policy/trunk directory. The compilation succeeded and I exported
xef.test as a plugin xef.test_0.8.0.
- copied the plugin into Eclipse/plugins and restarted it. However, in the
list of eclipse plugins I cannot see stp.xef.test (only stp.xef), which
looks like it didn't load. Also, no XMLXPathView is avialable in Eclipse
views, even if the appropriated classes are within stp.xef.test.jar.
I use eclipse 3.3 and STP 0.7.0.200711162004 All In One (the newer STP
versions have no xef plugin inside). I am thinking that it may be
incompatibility between versions of the plugins, but not quite sure. Do
you know what could be problem? Maybe it's possible to provide the whole
working package?
Thanks a lot,
Jelena

Yes, there could be some incompatibility here. We'll look into
adding a full download to our build. The reason we didn't do
that before is because the full download is very very large -
over 200MB! We've been favouring the update site approach to
lessen the burden on the Eclipse mirrors and consumers. But if
people are willing to go grab an enormous download, we can
provide it!
best regards
Oisin
