focus on derivatives (Over The Counter market). We have worked in a SOA
context producing XML Schemas close to FpML. We are currently working in the
domain of securitization/modelling of ABS instruments.

Our projects are quite often related to integration with existing
technology, among others we are very keen to explore
connectivity/interoperability with existing technology driven by financial
(domain) models.

One of the the interesting things to do is to get FpML schemas working with
EMF. I think EMF (and services around, like SDO) could be a good basis for
OFMP domain object model. Especially in a way products are being defined.

As far as I know someone already tried to import FpML schemas into EMF. The
attemt was not successfull because of some EMF limitation. But since it was
a while ago, I hope this limitation is resolved. In any case it might be a
good idea to establish contacts with the EMF team, to get direct support
form them.

Hi Denis,

Beside JFire who already contacted you here on a separate thread, parts
of my research for the magazine article on OFMP brought up a few more
potential participation candidates:

Most of them are SourceForge projects, where JFire is also hosted.

- JMoney
A Personal Accounting RCP application similar to Quicken or MS Money.
Its creators have in fact already answered my email via SF and would
be interested. I asked them to get in touch here or via mail with you.

- WIFE is a Java framework for managing SWIFT (http://www.swift.com)
messages. You mention SWIFT yourself in your proposal. Despite quite
young in SF it looks like a mature, sound framework. And while there is
a small Swing based sample, most of it is just message and service
based, so using it with more than one UI environment seems no problem.

- QuickFIX/J - Open Source Java FIX Engine similar for FIX

- EclipseTrader - RCP Application for Stock market and trading. This
project has been around at least as long as Eclipse RCP.

I wrote to a few of them already, e.g. the developer of EclipseTrader,
but please feel free to get in touch with those you consider interesting
yourself, too.

Hi,

There are two main reasons why I'm interested in a participation. First,
being one of the creators of JMoney I already have experience in writing
RCP applications. JMoney is not only a personal finance manager, it is
also an extensible accounting framework. Plug-ins can add new properties
to accounts, transactions, categories, entries and any other class of
object in the data model. This capability goes far beyond a simple
finance manager. Even though JMoney is currently licensed under GPL I
don't see any problems to dual-license it under EPL.

Second, I'm currently working as a software engineer/architect,
consultant, and project manager mainly in the area of banking projects.
I have an in-depth knowledge of commercial banking frameworks and their
application (monetary transactions, money market, rating, bonds, repo,
interest rate swaps, ...)
