Typed Ports - bug or feature [message #1844728] Thu, 23 September 2021 04:56 Go to next message

Testing the Papyrus 5 master branch I stumbled over the following issue:

index.php/fa/41014/0/

Typing a (full) port with its owning block to test nesting blocks, the port owns itself ad infinitum as shown in the Model Explorer.

I feel this to be a bug, but I am not sure.

Hello,

We want to display parts of the type of the part, so in your case it is recursive. However, we should constraint this display only for parts and not for ports. [1]

You can disable the model explorer customization called SystemView.

Best regards,
Pauline

Hi Pauline,

many thanks for your prompt response. And yes, it it is a recursive construct, that is the very reason why I was not sure it should be classified bug. Technically the presentation is absolutely correct, but nevertheless not exactly what I would expect. So I appreciate you classified the behavior as a bug.

Maybe Ansgar Rademacher can translate this for you. In Germany we say:
Rekursiv geht meistens schief.
