unable to uninstall Eclipse Java 2021-03 Windows [message #1841996]

Hi,
I needed to install Eclipse for a work project. I installed Eclipse for Java Developers through the Oomph installer on Windows 10. After the projected finished I uninstalled it by removing the Desktop shortcut the folder and files in the start menu, the .eclipse and .p2 folder and the workspaces and the application folder. But if I search for eclipse the IDE is still listed in search and has the correct icon. I deleted and rebuild the search index, ran repair on search and on windows. I also searched the whole machine for eclipse folders or anything that had to do with eclipse. To this day I can still search for eclipse and find it. My question is where do you store it, because the installer is not a normal windows installer and clearly it has to be stored somewhere because he reindexes it every time.

When you search, can't you use the Properties dialog to find out where the thing it's finding is located? Is it really finding things that don't exist? That's not very helpful is it...

Eclipse registers itself as a link handler these days and that's stored in the system registry. The installer also registers itself as a link handler in the system registry. So perhaps these leave behind things that search finds...
