Hello everyone, i am trying to use an MQTT cloud to have a broker, i created one.
Now, the problem is, this broker is only compatible with mosquitto 3.1, 3.1.1 or 5.
I am trying to upgrade mosquitto on my ubuntu but no matter what i try it's not working.
Any help would be great.
Thank you all.

Mosquitto version 1.6 and up support all of MQTT versions 3.1, 3.1.1, and 5.0. If you're on Ubuntu 20.04 you should have version 1.6 available. If you're on 18.04 then only 1.4.15 is available, which still supports MQTT 3.1 and 3.1.1, but not 5.0.

If those versions are no good for you, then you could either try using the packages from the Mosquitto project PPA, see https://launchpad.net/~mosquitto-dev/+archive/ubuntu/mosquitto-ppa , or by using the snap version with `snap install mosquitto`. There are instructions for helping with the snap version here: https://mosquitto.org/documentation/using-the-snap/

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Roger
