Codewnd looks like a very good tool for developing applications that run in a container. In particular, the ability to develop using remote containers s a very good feature.
There is one problem with it, though: in order to develop containerized applications remotely, developers must install Codewind in a Kubernetes cluster.
This is a great thing if you are working for a company willing to pay for the hardware needed to run a Kubernetes cluster, or who are willing to pay for a cloud service (like Amazon's EKS) for setting up a cluster. Suppose, however, you are a single developer or a small software development company that needs to develop on a bare- metal machine or a VM to be shared by a few developers? With Codewind, you are out of luck.
I am proposing that the developers of Codewind implement the capability of developing remotely not just within a Kubernetes cluster, but also on a machine that is running Docker. In other words, have a remote Codewind that can be installed on a machine running Docker which allows the development and debugging of a containerized application. There s a good Docker API that can be used to make Docker perform the functions required to build and run a container. Why not have a version of a remote Codewind instance that can take advantage of that API in order to allow shared containerized development?
Just a suggestion...
