We have recently switched from the 1.11 Version to the 1.13 4diac IDE Version. We realized that there is no "Deployment Selection" area anymore. Therefore, we want to ask whether there is a new similar area or a new advised workflow to deploy resources in a similar way like with the "Deployment Selection" area. The "Started Simulated Devices" area remains empty even after we have started our local forte.

many thanks in advance

Hi,

I can imagine that the 1.13.0 version is quite a difference to 1.11. We wanted to delete the Deployment perspective as a whole already for some time (I think we announced it in the mailing lists and news a few times). Also the Simulated device management, which is currently a perspective will change a bit as its intention is to be in a separate window. As it is still in a transition state the started simulated devices is not completed. The goal here is to manage locally started devices. But the whole window/perspective is intended for managing local simulated only.

For deploying we had already 1.11.0 the option that when you select something deployable (system, system configuration, devices, resource) in any of the views (project explorer, system configuration editor) that in the context menu a deploy button is shown. Furthermore with 1.13.0 we are showing this information also in the run main menu. The deployment console is now part of the system development perspective. With that we hope we can deliver an even better deployment experience with less clicks and not needing to switch perspectives.

I hope this helps and you see that to. Feedback for improving the deployment are always greatly appreciated.

BR,
Alois
