Eclipse wont install [message #1830078]

whenever i try to install eclipse.app for mac, i get the message failed to create the Java Virtual Machine. If anyone could tell me what i might be able to do to fix this, that would be great.

Do you have a version 8 or 11 JDK installed?

yes I do but I'll go see if reinstalling the jdk does anything

Hi there, I had the same problem, so I downloaded the lates JDK 14.0.2 (from memory, I think that is the latest one) rebooted the Mac (running Mac O/S Catalina) then run the eclipse installer and it is working fine, Give it a try.
