Installing Eclipse IDE 2019‑03 [message #1807245]

I just downloaded Eclipse IDE 2019-03 on my mac on os x and tried to use Eclipse installer. However, when I clicked the eclipse installer icon after downloading it, I received the message: Failed to find a Main Class. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be going wrong. I don't exactly know what a main class is in this context, so if someone can explain this, that would be helpful. Thanks!

Does the file at that path exist in the file system? You could to copy the installer application elsewhere on your file system and run it from there...

It seems that the OP is attempting to run the installer directly from the disk image (.dmg) file. It won't work, and it is not according to the instructions.

He should just copy the application somewhere, e.g. to his home directory, and run the installer from there.
