Importing a project with git-lfs fails with git-lfs not found error [message #1802806]

Hi:

I am trying to import the https://github.com/knime/knime-workbench repository using git. The knime-workbench requires git-lfs. The import fails with the following error:

Git repository clone failed.
org.eclipse.jgit.api.errors.FilterFailedException: Execution of filter command 'git-lfs smudge -- 'org.knime.workbench.repository/lib/schemas.jar'' on file 'org.knime.workbench.repository/lib/schemas.jar' failed with return code '127', message on stderr: 'git-lfs smudge -- 'org.knime.workbench.repository/lib/schemas.jar': git-lfs: command not found

git-lfs is installed. When I open an eclipse terminal I can run git-lfs. So not sure why it says it cannot find git-lfs.

I saw a similar problem reported with e-git:

But do not see a useful response there.
