Is it possible to use wildcards in topics. For example a device publishes some topics like stat/device/status and stat/device/status1 and stat/device/status2 ... up to stat/device/status11. Is there a way to subscribe all the several status topics with one command maybe with something like a wildcard appending to 'status'?

Wildcards apply to entire levels (separated by /) in the topic hierarchy but not to parts of levels. So to do what you want you can have publishing topics stat/device/status/1 to stat/device/status/11 and then subscribe to stat/device/status/+

That are no good news, because I can't edit the topic names, they are given by the firmware.
Thanks and Merry Christmas
