I am building an RCP application and in order to provide a number of dependencies I have a choice between the following two p2 URLs to include on the target platform.

http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.7
vs
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/oxygen

Given that the plug-ins I'm interested in are available in either location, I'm wondering what is the difference between the two URLs and why should I pick one over the other?

/releases/oxygen is the "Eclipse Oxygen Simultaneous Release" that includes all the project components released as part of Oxygen. You can see the full list at:

https://projects.eclipse.org/releases/oxygen

/eclipse/updates is contains just the components of the Eclipse Platform project.
