I am happy to annouce that Gemini Blueprint 3.0.0.M1 is on it's way! Most notably, Gemini Blueprint 3.x upgrades to Java 8 and Spring 5. Here is the complete list of changes and fixes for the upcoming release:

With this release, we intend to treat application contexts defined in META-INF/spring like application contexts defined in OSGI-INF/blueprint, effectively ending the legacy support for "pure spring dm" containers created for application contexts in META-INF/spring, see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=532623.
