Version: Helios Service Release 2
Build id: 20110218-0911
Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.9
java version "1.8.0_101"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_101-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.101-b13, mixed mode)
PHP 5.6
No web server
Hi,
I'm familiar with Eclipse from having done Java development in it.
I downloaded a fresh copy of Eclipse with the PDT included to do PHP development.
I need to do PHP development on a site running a remote server, while having my copy of Eclipse on my computer.
My computer does not have a web server installed and likely will not be getting one anytime soon. I compiled PHP 5.6 ( the version of PHP the web app is written in ) from source and put it in my PATH variable.
The remote server has XDEBUG installed on it and I would like to debug the remote site with Eclipse.
Currently, Help > Help Contents does not work. Clicking on it crashes Eclipse. I have a separate thread about that.
My question is what I can read that will tell how to get started setting up Eclipse to do PHP development and debugging. Preferably without the need for local copies of the web app and without the need to run a local server.
Please feel free to point me to the appropriate URLS.
Thanks
