How to export "built-in" formatter so I can easily compare it to my modified formatter? [message #1760485] Thu, 27 April 2017 16:27 Go to next message

I'd like to understand exactly what modifications I've made over time to my "Modified" version of the Eclipse Java formatter, so I tried to use the "Export All" button on the formatter page, but no matter what else I do on that page, the resulting output file just has my "modified" formatter, not the "built-in" formatter. I even tried temporarily selecting the "built-in" formatter and doing the same, but it still only has the "modified" profile in it.

Maybe you have to do an Apply after changing the dropdown before exporting? Or you could create a new with Edit... on the built-in one, choosing a new name, and then exporting (maybe after doing an Apply)...

I tried first doing an "Apply" after selecting "built-in", but the results are the same.

It turns out that I have to edit the formatter and change its name, then save it, before I can export it.
