I am using standalone WikiText to convert MediaWiki to HTML.

When it encounters an HTML element with an attribute value that is not quoted, it converts the element to literal text, as in

&lt;font color=#ffffff&gt;

Is there a way to make it more forgiving?

In case it is not obvious, whether or not this it valid MediaWiki markup, the Wiki accepts it and I am not in a position to change all of the Wiki pages where this usage is found.
