Hi guys,

we have a Virgo 3.6.4 running on Redhat 7.2 with Java 1.8. Everything works fine when starting Virgo the first time. After shutting down Virgo and trying to start up, the following logmessage appears:
[2016-08-31 21:53:50.679] system-artifacts             <DE0700E> Cannot find plan 'org.eclipse.virgo.kernel.userregion.blueprint' version range '[0.0.0, oo)' in repository 'ext-ches-snaps-security-usr'.
[2016-08-31 21:53:50.752] system-artifacts             <DE0700E> Cannot find plan 'org.eclipse.virgo.web.tomcat' version range '[0.0.0, oo)' in repository 'ext-ches-snaps-security-usr'.
[2016-08-31 21:53:50.759] system-artifacts             <DE0700E> Cannot find plan 'org.eclipse.virgo.management' version range '[0.0.0, oo)' in repository 'ext-ches-snaps-security-usr'.

After deleting directory work, everything is back to normal again. We fixed the problem by adapting configuration/org.eclipse.virgo.repository.properties by setting the repository type of "ext" from "external" to "watched".

We have set the loglevel to debug and checked the logfiles, but could not find anything suspicious. Also, the exactly same Virgo is running nicely on Windows 10 and CentOS 7 (which should be quite similar to Redhat). Does anybody have an idea what the cause for this behaviour could be?

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan

Did you intentionally changed the 'ext' repository name under "[VIRGO_HOME]/configuration/org.eclipse.virgo.repository.properties" to 'ext-ches-snaps-security-usr'?

Regards,
Dani

Hi Dani,

that is interesting indeed. We did not change the name of the repository, but we have the following entry in the org.eclipse.virgo.repository.properties (ches is our custom repository):
chain=ext,ches,snaps,security,usr

So I guess that should be the order in which Virgo is looking for artifacts. I do not really know why Virgo is logging this chaining instead of the name of the repository, but I will try whether I can find out.

Thank you very much for the pointer!

Cheers,
Stefan
