Hey guys,

I am currently upgrading an application from Virgo 3.6.4 and Java 6 to Virgo 3.7 and Java 8. I use 3.7M03 and detected that the package-imports for Spring 4.2.4 for the Apache HttpComponents/HttpClient libraries are wrong. The version is set to 4.5.1 for all org.apache.http.* packages, which is a fairly recent version of HttpClient, but HttpComponents' latest stable release is 4.4.5 and some of the packages are exported by this bundle. This prevents the usage of some of the classes in spring-web, even if the latest HttpClient/Components bundles are in repository/usr.

Could you please create Spring bundles with the correct http client/component version imports in the next milestone?

Hi Sven,

thanks for giving 3.7.0.M03 a try. Daniel reported this issue[1] while he was migrating his application, too.
The latest build from Hudson should already contain a fix and is part of our next milestone 3.7.0.M04[2].

I found an additional problem with spring-context-support and opened a ticket for it in the bugtracker (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=499517)
