In the meantime I was not so sure myself at all. Therefore I googled images on IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499 and FB tools in general. Just to see how the represent type and instance names and where they put the emphasis. After a few hours I stoped I had seen so many different things and was less sure then ever what a good solution would be. I complied the attached mock ups to give you even more choices

Just one thin g I forgot to mention yesterday. 4diac FBs are a little broader then the FBs of other tools. The reason is that we are printing the type name in the small part between events and data. Most other tools are printing it above the data IOs some also on the top. This can make the FB a little smaller, but it needs more vertical space. As now nearly all screens are wide screens being vertically smaller is definitely better then being horizontal smaller. So I would opt for any option that saves as vertical space.

This thread got somewhat rather silence. As we are planing to do a first milestone release I would also add some improvements suggested from this thread also for this release. In parallel I had some off-line talks with 4diac users and it seams that the option bith bold type name has the most support. Furthermore I think haveing the instance name above the FB leads to a better look and feel of the overall FB.
Any preferences if the instance name should be italic or normal font?
