MacOS has this useful feature that when you long-press a key, a menu with the special characters associated with that key pops up (rather than repeating the key). Then you can easily choose the character you need. This does not seem to work in Eclipse. My version is Mars.2 Release (4.5.2).

I tried to specifically enable this feature for Eclipse, using:

defaults write org.eclipse.platform.ide ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true

in the terminal. But this has no effect. Any idea whether this works at all?
