It is not possible right now, but the need has already been identified
in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=455056 "Allow edges
between items within separate list containers". You'll even find a
specification attached to that ticket (your feedback is welcome!).
The ticket is currently marked for Sirius 4.0 (the version for Eclipse
Neon next june), but this is not a hard commitment. If no-one steps up
to sponsor the work, it may slip to a later version.
