When selecting a site in the Available Software menu that is found by Help>Install New Software, the list of available software doesn't appear. If Select All is chosen, the message xx items selected is displayed, but until Next is selected and requirements are calculated, no list of the available software is displayed. Which in most cases is too late to choose just some of the items.

Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers, Mars (4.5) on a Linux system installed using the Eclipse Installer. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

In the Available Software dialog, examine the options (checkboxes) at the bottom. Specifically, Group Items By Category, because some update sites don't use categories properly and enabling/disabling that option can result in all features being hidden.

Thanks for the reply. I tried a lot of different combinations of the check boxes and always got the same result.

I've been using Eclipse for at least eight years and never had this problem before. After reading your message, I realized that maybe trying to use an existing work space created with a previous version might be the problem.

Just tried a completely blank work space and everything works as it should. Does this indicate a corrupt work space? Any known way of recovering beyond rebuilding the whole thing?
