Eike showed me a demo of CDO's new client UI in EclipseCon NA, which had many improvements and enabled many of the features through UI.

I am wondering if I can get this UI from anywhere? I was hoping the client examples in version 4.4 woudl have it, but it doesn't, I also tried out the explorer product but that is also based on the simple old client UI.

Does anyone have pointers to this?

The new UI is not an example. The major part of it is implemented in the cdo.explorer.ui plugin and consists of the CDO
Repositories view and a Project Explorer integration. It's also available through the CDO Explorer perspective.

A few bug fixes are already available in our 4.5 integration builds:
