Limit cpu usage [message #1701021]

Eclipse Luna 4.4.1
Windows 7, 64 bit

When I build a maven project my cpu use spikes to 100% on all cores, effectively locking up my computer until the build is done. It's usually only a minute or 2, but is still very frustrating. Using the windows process affinity does not help.

Is there any way to limit the number of cpus eclipse uses so I can do other work while waiting for the maven build process to finish? Maybe a setting in the ini file?

I don't think there's any such configuration for Eclipse directly, but a quick web search yielded some options for Windows processes in general, such as http://superuser.com/a/214572/395964
