Dear,

For my master dissertation, I have to assess the useability of Sirius. As I'm completely new in Eclipse, I don't really have too much of an idea where to start. The tutorials worked out fine, but now that I have to start by myself it gets trickier.

I have to develop a tool for creating Entity-Relationship (UML) diagrams. I already have a pre-defined .ecore model and would like to start from this.

I have never worked with Eclipse, EMF nor GMF. If you think that I should start learning about this, would it be possible to reference materials I could use? As the documentation is very wide and I want to focus on creating the tool in sirius I would like to limit this.

If you think it's possible to start using Sirius without any other documentation, please let me know how I should start by using my .ecore model.

Thanks!

I have now started following tutorials on vogella as it seems that this is the best start. Any other help is welcome!

I'm now working in Sirius. But don't have the feeling that I know enough after the tutorial, I've read the documentation but I'm having the feeling that I could do it simpler than I'm doing right now.

I have to create a tool for creating Entity-Relationship diagrams. I already have the ecore meta-model in hand.

I think you could take a look to the existing Entity-Relationship
diagrams powered by Sirius:
. UML Designer: http://www.umldesigner.org/
.
http://www.umldesigner.org/ref-doc/implement-the-application.html#Class_Diagram
. EcoreTools: https://www.eclipse.org/ecoretools/
