Change in Eclipse IDE behaviour [message #31761] Tue, 21 March 2006 09:04 Go to next message

I'm using Eclipse version 3.1.2 (build id M20060118-1600) to develop Java
code. I have noticed a recent change in behaviour within the IDE, namely
that when I click on anything in the outline panel (e.g. instance variable,
method), the editor window shows only the thing that I've selected. Before
this change, the whole class would remain displayed, but would jump to where
the thing I selected was within the class. I'm guessing that I somehow
changed the preferences to get this behaviour, but I can't remember doing
so. I've been through the preferences again and again, but can't find
anything obvious. I really don't like this new behaviour and would like to
change it back to the way it was. Any ideas?

Regards,

Geraint.

Geraint,

Check your toolbar. There is a button that shows "Show Source of
Selected Element Only" has its tooltip. You must have that one turned
on. Press it to turn it off.

BTW, this should probably have been posted to the eclipse.tools.jdt
newsgroup.
