Has anyone else had issues with column widths in the PDF output of M3? PDF
generation seems very good overall, but an old bug where the PDF engine
ignores column widths in tables seems to still be there.

I searched bugzilla, and there seems to be a couple bugs in there for
this, 112319 being the closest description. Does anyone know a
hack/workaround to force column widths in PDF? Thanks.

Hi,
I reported the following bug last week: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=119397
Does that describe the problem you've got?

Cheers,
michael

Exactly, that's the one. I noticed this comment:

Fixed in new BIRT PDF emitter

I'll try your example in the newest nightly build, and see if it works.

I can't find a build newer than M3 that is stable enough to preview a
report, so I can't test this. But I suspect it isn't fixed. How does this
work anyway, can random people reopen bugs, or is that best left to the
actuate team? Thanks.

I experience the same problem in 2.0M3.
This is a major problem for me, since my required output format is PDF.
Anyone know if someone is fixing this for rel2.0?

I searched the dev newsgroup, and I think this will be fixed in 2.0 final.
It looks like the PDF emitter was changed post-M3, which fixes a whole
bunch of PDF bugs. I'll confirm this when the next stable nightly build is
produced.
