No it won't be the milestone build ... but glad you asked.
Last week we moved our M4 date to 4/29 .. this was for a number of reasons,
but one of them was we wanted to be sure we would have one build available that we and the
community could test for approximately a week before we declared M4.
So, I20050422 is that "please test" build. Be warned, there's already bugs/issues known that we
will fix before the final M4, and we'd like (all) your help finding any more bugs that would
*block* your use of this driver. Of course, even with M4, we will not yet have a "bug free, ready
for prime time" version, so this really is seeking the help of the advant gaurde.
We are not looking for new feature requests with this sort of I-build, but we would like a
quick sanity check that there's nothing seriously wrong. We know many of you have different
environments, run with plugins we don't normally run with, and just in
general do things in ways we would never even imaagine. :)
So, give it a spin if your able, open bugs as you see them, please use accurate "severity" ratings,
and give as much diagnostic information as you can (exact steps to reproduce, .metadta/.log), etc.
.... and, hey, a good patch wouldn't hurt! :)
If your are not sure of where to start or how to help, there is summary
of component teams tests at
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/development/milestone_test_p lan_overview.html
If you will be devoting a lot of time to this, like a whole day or more, you might open a bugzilla
feature requeest with "Volunteering to test XYZ in the ABC" component, just so we'd know
what's being covered by others. Then when you are done, you can summarize your activites and findings
in that feature request.
Well .. if you've read this far in this long note ... then I bet you'll be one of those helping us test :)
Thanks
