Hey, all... could someone please give me a good starting point for using CVS
with Eclipse? Also, if at all possible, maybe a quick "down and dirty"
synopsis of how it works?
I'm a Microsoft guy with a butt load of experience developing over there. I
am VERY familiar with using SourceSafe to deal with code management (check
in, check out, etc.) and even using VSS for half-baked release management.
I would like the same functionality with CVS.
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi,
For a newbie tutorial, read the 'Team CVS Tutorial' in the Eclipse help
under 'Workbench User Guide'-->'Getting Started'.
For a detailed view of cvs you should read 'Open Source Development with
CVS' at http://cvsbook.red-bean.com/. It has a good introduction and quite
detailed information about cvs. The second chapter (Overview of CVS) is well
worth reading if you are not familiar with cvs. It contains a section about
cvs and vss main differences.
HTH,

Csaba
