What format output are you using? Are you in the Preview (HTML) or are
you looking at PDF?

If PDF, I have had problems with it not respecting my settings. I am on
1.0.1 currently also. I plan to upgrade to 2.0 soon. M3 is due out today
and the candidate release is due out in 2 weeks. I hope they have fixed
the PDF problems.

If you are seeing the problem in the viewer, I'm not sure what is wrong.
When I put non-zero values for padding and margin, I get a space between
fields.
