| Not Exporting .classpath and .project files [message #931874] |

I have been using Eclipse for about a month and have exported around 6 projects successfully by selecting the project > File menu > Export > General twisty > File System.
A few weeks ago the .classpath and .project files have no longer been included in my exports. The .classpath and .project items are selected in the final window before I select finish to export to my desktop but the .classpath and .project files are not there.
I am running Eclipse for Java Developers 4.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.8.2 (JavaSE 1.7).
I've reinstalled and combed through settings and preferences but can not get the .classpath and .project files to be included in my export.
Anyone know what I need to check or do to correct this?
