C++ Make for Windows [message #92318] Wed, 21 January 2004 07:18

Hi All,

I have installed the CDT package for Eclipse and I'm using GCC (on Cygwin)
for my compiler/debugger. This seems to be working.

However, I can only ever choose "Cygwin Executable" for the platform and
therefore Eclipse will only generate Linux makefiles (I THINK this is the
problem...).

So, I downloaded and installed the Borland C++ Builder Compiler for Windows
(hoping that this would give the me an option along the lines of "Windows
Executable"...). This, however, has not worked.

Does anyone know exactly what the problem is (and how to solve it?) as I'm
wanting to write Windows applications in C++, but obviously the GCC compiler
(g++) doesn't recognise many of the commands.

If anyone can shed light on the situation I would be most grateful!!

Steven Bain.

PS: Apologies if this problem had cropped-up on the forums before... I've
only just registered and have had a quick shufties - but couldn't find
anything of use.

Cheers.
