We've noticed that some Virgo Hudson jobs configured with the virgo-serialise lock seems to execute concurrently on the same slave. For example, we saw the following jobs on slave2 today:

virgo.nano.snapshot #556
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:01:28 GMT
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:03:52 GMT

virgo.util.snapshot #863
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:03:52 GMT
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:05:25 GMT

virgo.apps.snapshot #1087
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:03:52 GMT
Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:04:59 GMT

Note that util normally takes 1.5 minutes to build and apps takes just over 1 minute, thats a total of 2.5 minutes, whereas both jobs completed within 1 minute and 33 seconds according to the above stats.

Can anyone explain this behaviour?

For virgo.nano.snapshot, where do you get the "Tue, 25 Sep 2012 05:03:52 GMT" from? I checked https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/computer/hudson-slave2/builds and found only the build #556 which is the time 5:01:28 AM

We got those times from the build history. See this screenshot for one of them.

How are your locks and latches configured?

Build Environment/Locks is ticked and the lock virgo-serialise is specified.
