Session failover for workbench planned? [message #910851]

Hi once again. I spent some time these days in setting up a tomcat cluster as described in the wiki. Sadly I found out too late that the session-failover is supported for rwt only, but not for workbench based applications.

Are there any restrictions on the workbench side that stay in the way for that, or are there any plans to support this in the future?

There are restrictions. The 3.x workbench relies on the
SWT_COMPATIBILITY mode, as it uses its own synchronizer implementation
and event loops at certain points. It's impossible to make it run it in
a clustering environment.

But I think there's hope that once we have renderers for the new 4.x
workbench, these can support clustering.
