Hi, I used have the run or debug window pops out when I clicks the run...
or debug... menu. But for some how, it stops poping out the window
recently, when Iclicks the run... or debug... menu. I can still run/debug
the project by selecting run as or debug as. But without the run or debug
dialog box poping out, I can't change the settings for the runtime
environment. It's quite anoying. I tried to reinstall the eclipse but it
does not help. I badly need your help. I just can't figure out what's
wrong.

Is there an error in the .log? Sounds like a bug.

Do you know if there is a log file at some where for eclipse? I just can't
find it. Yesterday I got the launch screen for some time, but failed to
launch it later. And no luck this morning as well.

I did a clean install and I got the launch window back. But this time I
got the unexpected Ant error as the following:
[junit] BUILD FAILED:
file:M:/llchen_FWK.r3_3_Server_Side_Security/mft_security/ba se/policy_eval/test/build.xml:432:
Could not create task or type of type: junit.
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
- You have misspelt 'junit'.
Fix: check your spelling.
- The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
Fix: declare the task.
- The task is an Ant optional task and optional.jar is absent
Fix: look for optional.jar in ANT_HOME/lib, download if needed
- The task was not built into optional.jar as dependent
libraries were not found at build time.
Fix: look in the JAR to verify, then rebuild with the needed
libraries, or download a release version from apache.org
- The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
- The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
classpath
Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
as this is not an Ant bug.
The same build.xml runs fine before I re-install the eclipse.
I don't have any clue what's going on.

It would appear that the Ant runtime classpath has been changed to not
include the junit.jar.

Hi, Darin:
I still fail to get the launch window from time to time. If that happens,
I have to launch the property view of the project, select some properties
and then click Ok to close the property view. After that then I can get
the launch window back. I don't know why it behaves like that on my
machine. I noticed that after I click the Ok button to close the project
property view, it writes some data back to the disk to update the project
settings. Maybe the io blocks the launch window poping up?
Another question: my project is in the version control system, the
ClearCase. I check out all the project related files out and modify all
the settings. Most of the settings are local to my machine and will be
changed by others. If I want to preserve my own settings for the project,
is there a way for me to import/export all the project settings?
Thanks,
Louis
