Associating rcp exe with "this kind of file" [message #898063] Wed, 25 July 2012 13:31 Go to next message

Have developed an RCP using EMF which creates a .fm file for persistence (this is the standard xml persistence provided out-of-the-box).

I was wondering if there was an easy way for a user to double click the file and it would open up in the RCP. I have tried doing the 'Choose the program you want to use to open this file' option in windows, but it just opens up the RCP and does not go that one step further and actually open the file.

Anyone does this before?

Thanks,

Stacey

Stacey,

That's more of a general Eclipse question. I don't know how to start
Eclipse and specify that it should load an editor for a specific file...

I think your IDE does it with this: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=314953
