How do BIRT report work with multiple data sets?
Suppose I create a report with multiple data set say- Employee, Department and Location all present in a single data source and I am not using Joined data set. Will BIRT automatically link all the 3 data sets once the data is processed and available to BIRT? How are multiple data source handeled(linked) in BIRT? How will BIRT use the data from multiple data sets? Do the data sets remain disjoined?

The only way data sets are joined is in a joint data set or a birt data
cube. In both of those cases you decide how they are joined. Other
than those cases birt does not join any datasets, but you can nest
datasets like in nested tables.
