UML components: Add information about responsibility [message #873475] Fri, 18 May 2012 06:16 Go to next message

Hi,

I have the following situation:

I have a UML component diagram as architecture model. Now I want to add information concerning the responsibility of the components, i.e. who is responsible for their implementation.

What do you think how to add this information?

As UML comments? As something like OCL statements? External database?

I want to add this responsibilities to everything: to components, to classes etc. Maybe with UML comments the diagram gets a bit bloated?

Regards,

Tex

Hi

All your suggested approaches are possible, but if you're going to go to
the trouble of modeling responsibilities, perhaps you should model them
so that they might remain accurate and be useful.

I'm not a user of profiles, but this seems like a good case for one. I
would start by looking at the MOF Life cycle model, MARTE or SysML to
see whether what you want is already supported.

Ed Willink
