How can I use 'Smart caret positioning in PHP names' option? [message #87022]

This option is explained in PDT document as follows.
If this options is checked, pressing Home and End will jump to the
beginning/end of a PHP name.

The result when I pressed Home/End key has not changed though I checked
this option.
I couldn't understand the usage of this option.

What is 'PHP names'?
