GEF 2.1.1 requires Eclipse 2.1.1? [message #84348] Thu, 19 June 2003 10:04 Go to next message

I downloaded the latest GEF build and noticed that it required Eclipse
2.1.1 so I couldn't run it on 2.1 Is this a real necessary requirement?
I.e. will GEF 2.1.1 really need something from Eclipse IDE 2.1.1 that
makes it unusable with 2.1.0? What is it?

I'm asking so that I can plan the upgrade requirements for my users. It'd
be nicer and simpler if Eclipse IDE 2.1.1 wasn't required, but its not the
end of world if it is, I'm just curious as to why.

Thanks,
Vadim

We are being consistent with other features. For example, the JDT feature
requires the platform feature of the same version (2.1.1).

It is also necessary for testing and support. When people open a bugzilla
against GEF 2.1.1, we need to limit the scope of support.
