Hi there

Accidentally I've cleaned all of the browser internal files (cookies,
sessions, etc). And got strange behavior as a result. The application
shows itself and then immediately falls with exceptions in rwt lifecycle.

I've tried to trace these down and found out that UIThread#switchThread
throws its exception. I could not go any further as it is a property of
servlets.

Then I scratched my head and tried the same on rap.demo. Got this
behavior too.

I've managed to get things back by trying different browsers and reboots.

Hi,

that sounds strange:( Could you post the Exception along with its
strack trace.

Cheers,

Hi

Sure that's no problem.

I'm willing to pass the following steps:

1. I've made a workspace from scratch, imported rap.demo into it.

2. Opera 9.27 says this, after the application got shown in a little time:

"The server session timed out.
Please click here to restart the session."

The exception trace is in the attachment (yes it's so huge).

3. Internet Explorer 7 works right, after I re-run jetty and close Opera.

4. Firefox 2.0.0.13 behaves like Opera, after I re-run jetty and close IE7.

I shall say that every browser was ok until I managed to clear their
settings.

5. Run IE7 again, clear its settings. Re-run jetty. Now IE7 says the
same as Opera did. And at the moment none of the mentioned browsers do
actually work. Then run Firefox. No luck again.

6. Close eclipse. Wait for a while. Run IE7 - works! Run firefox -
doesn't work.

(that's enough)

Reboot doesn't always help. Probably I broke the platform itself. Or
maybe eclipse/jetty. Don't know. Didn't changed anything there.

Regards,
Dmitry Pryadkin

Hello Rüdiger

I'm using rap_1.1.0.20080407-1124 that is 1M3.

Still not sure what was that. Can't get opera and firefox back to work.
Sometimes these browsers prompt me that multiple browser instances or
multi-tabs aren't supported. Although I don't use multi-tabs and have
only the one instance running. Anyways, it seems that IE works.

Anyone tried cleaning the browser cache?

Thanks

Hi Dimitry,

I played around a bit with RAP from CVS HEAD but cannot reproduce
what you describe. Neither with IE, nor with FF, nor with Safari.
Just a wild guess: did you disable cookies in those browsers that do
not work?

Cheers,
Rüdiger

Hi Dmitry,

Are you sure that the address you typed in the browser did NOT have a /
(slash) at the end. The problem you describe is a known problem when you
append something other than ? (question mark) to the URL.
