| Firefox extension not working and account problem [message #8213] | Wed, 14 January 2009 11:33 | |
| Eclipse User | | | | | Hi,

I try Azigo software and want to switch back to Higgins open source
solution. I installed Higgins selector but still have some message who
refer to Azigo. I removed all Azigo software from my computer, only use
Higgins connecter, Higgins selector selector and Higgins Identity Selector.

I use firefox 3.0.5, I have Higgins Connector Installed option set to
Selector Selector with default configuration. But when I try to login with
info card, firefox asking for application/x-informationcard.

My second problem is to create new account. I use the interface in
Accounts configuration. I have the Account creation failed. Please try
again error. Sniffing HTTPS request I have this:

| Eclipse User | | | | | I appreciate your effort and some suggestions sound very interesting also for other topics, but considering its pace here in the newsgroup and the
fact, it does not provide any solution for REAL identity cards (just some
bogus "Virtual" cards, those freaked out about "Cloud Computing" may find
great or useful ?;-) makes it questionable, if and to what extent Higgins
 has a future...?

I haven't seen its EclipseCon presentation, nor if it was even present? The
one on ESE last fall was however deflating, especially in regards to ID
cards. A topic highly demanded not just by Social Security Systems (and I
don't even dare to mention President Obama's high goals on that, a working
national Social Security SYSTEM there is of course more important than an ID
 card ;-)

If you simply want to avoid the cost of a commercial implementation and
Higgins does what you need, then go for it, but it does not seem too useful
or flexible for requirements beyond that. Or open for such systems. Sadly, I
could also have found good use in such case (working with RFID smartcard
solutions right now, but I also do a lot with a leading advisor for Social
Security networks across Europe including ID cards already introduced)
