BIRT Chart Problem [message #81445] Fri, 04 April 2008 09:25 Go to next message

Hello all.

I am using BIRT inside a RAP application. The problem I am facing is
that the chart placed on a BIRT report does not get displayed, when the
RAP application is launched in a separate browser. The strange part is,
the chart is displayed properly if the RAP application is launched in
the internal eclipse browser.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Anup Gokhale

Hi,

unfortunately I'm not familiar with BIRT reporting. So could you please
explain a little bit more detailed what you are doing? E.g. Do you use a
separate servlet for the reporting? What does the URL for the report
look like? etc.

Ciao
Frank

Hi Anup
I have tried to integrate BIRT with RAP and it seems, although I
installed BIRT correctly, that I can't retrieve the plugins to use them
in my project. I believe is related with the RAP Target Source for Eclipse.
Please, do you have any hints on this issue? I will appreciate any help

Best Regards
Gustavo

Hi Gustavo,
Download the BIRT runtime from the BIRT project downloads, unzip the
files and copy the plug-ins into the plugins folder of the RAP
installation. Then just reload the RAP platform.

Anup

Hi Anup,

would you mind to write a little tutorial for non-BIRT users how to
setup and use BIRT in a RAP application? We are really interested to see
such a combination and I would really love to see a little sample
application.

Hi,

I have little bit confuse ,, if your using org.eclipse.birt.chart.ui ,
then this plugin depend on org.eclipse.ui .. So how u get ur plugin works.

Actually Am using birt report designer but it is based on RCP ,,, So i
guess we should rewrite the birt plugins with RAP...
