I just wondered if its possible to launch a headless plugintest which runs
an AGR macro. by default the workbench doesn't get loaded in headless
mode. so... is there no way?

There are no means for executing a test suite in a headless workbench but
you can use a headless workbench to launch an automated GUI test suite.
This is in fact what the Automatable Service Framework does. You can read
more about it here:

Maybe I can better answer your question if you can describe why you need
this feature.
