Old plugins left behind after upgrade [message #80000]

Eclipse User

Is this normal? I used the update manager for the first time to upgrade
Eclipse. After doing so, the disk usage for my installation folder went
way up. I checked the plugins folder, and there are old verions of most of
the plugins still there alongside the new versions. Is this supposed to be
the case?

How do I clean this up? Do I have to go through manually removing the old
folders individually?

It is normal. Currently you have to manually remove the old folders.

Thanks for the info. Are there any plans to change this? It seems like
this could be a real headache for users. I would think the old plugins
should be removed unless they are part of a saved configuration. No?

I believe 3.0 may have plans for this
