Hi,
I am using Eclipse 3.0M3 and when I try to update I see a bunch of
updates I can get, even CDT 1.2.0, but selecting any of them will
result in "Invalid combination" message and the status information is
"Resulting configuration does not contain the platform"
"Resulting configuration does not contain the primary feature"
I am running this on RH9 GTK2 system with jre 1.4.2.
Anybody has any clue as to why this might be happening? If so, what is
the fix?
waiting for reply,

CDT is not yet ready for 3.0. Eclipse had also undergone some API
changes, though for 1.2 stick with Eclipse 2.1.1 for now.
When you select an plugin, Eclipse checks for compatability requirements
given by the plugin. Right now, there is no major version number check,
only minor and service version.
As been told myself, there will probably no porting until either 3.0
final is out and/or CDT 2.0.

Yes, the plan of record is to release CDT 2.0 in sync with Eclipse 3.0.
However the porting effort won't begin until after 1.2 is finished in
October.
Cheers,
