Decorators extension point and expression-based constraints [message #791772] Mon, 06 February 2012 03:39 Go to next message

Looking at the expression point description of org.eclipse.ui.decorators
there seems to be no support for the much more general expression API
that is provided by org.eclipse.core.expressions.definitions to express
finegrained constraints on visibility and enablement. Instead we have
only the much more limited API that we have for the old actions. Does
that mean that there exists a new and more recommended extension point
for decorators that supports general expressions?

Is there any known way how to use general expressions in regard to the
org.eclipse.ui.decorators extension point?

Thanks & Greetings from Bremen,

Daniel Krügler
