Hi,
Since April Eclipse 2.1 has been running on win2k without incident.
But today win2k hung and rebooted itself. (The crash was not related to
Eclipse - I ran out of virtual memory.)
I had some Help windows open at the time, and now all the Help windows
refuse to open.
Must I reinstall Eclipse or is there a better way to restore the Help
system? If I reinstall Eclipe, what files/folders should I backup, to
save my personal settings?
The FAQ notes slow resapnse when the Help is served over a lan, but I'm
running Eclipse standalone.
Any advice or experience would be appreciated. John Clarke

What do you mean by refuse to open? Is there an error displayed or just
nothing happens at all? Check your workspace/.metadata/.log file, it might
contain entries that will point to the problem. If log does not help, you
can try removing workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclispe.help* directories
that contain state of help plug-ins. Unless your machine crashed generating
some disk errors, there should be no reasons for reinstalling Eclipse.
